UX Designer – II
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
You will be responsible for improving services and co-create innovative user experiences at CaratLane stores & online website/app. The UX designer in the team will be the leader of “omnichannel glue” that will also bring together and bind the physical and digital retail experiences & will work more on a feature to feature basis but the large process will include improving the online ecommerce through researching, developing and testing ideas.
You will also plan, organize resources & make CaratLane stores frictionless with the aim of creating a quality digital tools as well as customer experience at the store & website/app. The successful execution of a service design at caratlane requires three different components to work harmoniously together across the entire business:
People. The employees, product design, tech. and the consumers.
Tools. The diverse list of physical and digital artefacts required by the retail business to support experiences. Some examples: ecommerce technology, physical click and collect counters, business architecture and/or business system connectivity.
Processes. All the workflows and “ways of working” needed to control and operate the people and props in line with consumer expectation.
Essentially UX designer will look at two major context at CaratLane :
1. Pre-purchase. The service design activities that work to enhance the experience when the consumer is in the moment to engage at store or online.
2. Post-purchase. The service design activities that create amazing experiences after the consumer has turned into a customer. All post-purchase activities start at the moment the consumer has parted with his/her money, right through to the point the consumer receives the product.
It’s important to note that both pre- and post-purchase comprise a mix of “front of house” and “behind the scenes” activities. You will collaborate with Online – Product Design, Tech & Management along with Merchandise and Retail sales. Think of service design activities at CaratLane stores like the front and back stages of a theatre performance. Our consumer sees and experiences everything the theatre production teams want them to see or hear, however, there is an army of people, activities, and workflows occurring behind the scenes. (the script, direction, lighting tools, orchestra etc.). Any issues/faults that lie within the backstage will translate to a degraded performance and experience for those watching. More than that, ‘what & why’ motivates and demotivates our buyers at the store is something you will identify. Think of yourself as the director of the theatrical performance which defines success as all moving parts (front and back) working perfectly together to present the desired pitch, a perfect performance or a wow frictionless Purchase of the jewelry.
