Summary:
The
Inventory Controller Executive plays a pivotal role in the
organization's supply chain by leading and managing the inventory
control function. This position involves strategic planning, process
improvement, and team leadership to ensure efficient inventory
management and cost optimization.
Key
Responsibilities:
Inventory Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels and meet organizational goals.
Collaborate with senior management to align inventory strategies with overall business objectives.
Inventory Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and improve inventory management processes and procedures.
Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and cost reduction.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and lead a team of inventory control professionals,
providing guidance and mentoring.
Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and facilitate professional development.
Demand Forecasting and Planning:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate demand forecasts.
Translate forecasts into actionable inventory plans, setting reorder points, and safety stock levels.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Foster strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and contracts.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues as they arise.
Inventory Analytics and Reporting:
Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to monitor inventory performance and trends.
Generate regular reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics and recommendations.
Cost Control and Budgeting:
Monitor and control inventory-related costs, including storage,
obsolescence, and carrying costs.
Develop and manage the inventory control budget.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to inventory management.
Implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize inventory-related risks.
Inventory Technology and Systems:
Evaluate, select, and implement inventory management software and technology solutions.
Train staff on the use of inventory management systems and tools.
Strategic Vendor Partnerships:
Identify strategic vendor partnerships and negotiate agreements that benefit the organization.
Optimize vendor relationships to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Several years of experience in inventory control or supply chain management, with a proven track record of leadership.
Proficiency in inventory management software and advanced data analytics tools.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
